Bison Elevator, Inc. was originally established in 1969 by our founder Robert J. Pawlik. The company saw modest growth through the next two decades. During this time the two Pawlik sons, Randall and Robert joined the field and worked their way to union trained journeymen status. The company was primarily focused on maintenance, service and modernization work. Under the direction and guidance of Mr. Pawlik, eldest son Randy began to excel in the field, eventually becoming the main troubleshooter and adjuster for the company. He also learned the value of good customer service under his father.
In September of 2000, the Pawlik Family and Bison Elevator, Inc. lost its leader and patriarch unexpectedly. The family decided to carry on the legacy of Mr. Pawlik. The next generation began the task of moving forward. Randall J. Pawlik Sr. became President of the new company Bison Elevator Service, Inc. This new leadership brought a different direction. Bison began to focus on growth, taking on much larger maintenance jobs and new construction projects.
Today in 2017, Bison Elevator Service, Inc. has 28 field employees combined in the Buffalo and Rochester offices. We have developed our own in house machine shop with the ability to repair or manufacture many obsolete or hard to find parts. With over 1000 elevators under service, Bison Elevator Service, Inc. has become the leading independent elevator company in Upstate New York. The legacy of Robert Pawlik continues with the third generation of Pawliks now involved in the family business. Randy’s oldest daughter Jessica helps run the office, Randy Jr. is a third year union apprentice working in the field, like his father and grandfather before him.
